Dominion Realty Capital, August 16, 2009: $19M Refi Obtained for US Airways HQ

TEMPE, AZ-WP Carey & Co. LLC has obtained $19 million to refinance its US Airways Group’s Corporate Headquarters. The floating-rate, non-recourse loan, provided by a regional bank, allows the New York City owner to retire maturing debt on the 225,000-square-foot, nine-story building. Damien R. Wilson, managing partner with Dominion Realty Capital Inc. in New York City tells that arranging financing on the two-year-old building at 111 W. Rio Salado Pkwy. was somewhat difficult. W.P. Carey & Co. has obtained $19 million of financing for U.S. Airways Group’s corporate headquarters building in Tempe, Ariz. Carey, a New York investment firm that specializes in single-tenant, net-leased properties and in sale-leaseback transactions, built the 225,000-square-foot headquarters at 111 W. Rio Salado Parkway for U.S. Airways in 1999. Dominion Realty Capital of New York arranged the floating-rate financing, which Carey has used to take out previous debt on the building.
